In honor of the American holiday, Halloween, we have been doing creepy songs all week! Here's some highlights!
Kindergartners: enjoyed dancing to "We Are Scary Skeletons" as they walk, skip, and hop down the street. In "The Witch Has An Itch" we kept the beat on different parts of our body where the witch was itchy. We also got to try out the vibraslap and the glockenspeils in "Old Mrs. Witch."
Grade 1: got to dance to "Scary Skeletons" too! Then, we sang a sang to share what we are going to dress up as! Lastly, we danced to "Stirring My Brew." Watch the video on this link.
Grade 2: Acted out Hungarian Dance #3 by Brahms. You can play the song on YouTube by clicking on the name and have your student show you the different parts. When the music changes, so does the motions. But when the music sounds the same, so are the motions!
Grade 3: Watched Danse Macabre by Camille Saint Saens with Ms. Deanna's class, to hear how much can tell the story of ghosts, witches, and skeletons!
Grade 4 & 5: Sang the Ghost of John in canon with motions and instruments. They even added a repeated pattern, which is called an ostinato, on vibraslap and temple block! Check out the video of Mr. Lea's class!
